ARL Statistics Webcast and Chat History Now Available
Washington DC--The Association of Research Libraries (ARL) Statistics webcast presented on December 4 is now available on the ARL Statistics Web site, along with the chat history and PowerPoint slides. Visit http://www.arl.org/stats/annualsurveys/arlstats/07statmail.shtml.
Over 130 representatives from ARL member libraries participated in the event, which was led by Martha Kyrillidou, Director, ARL Statistics and Service Quality Programs; Julia Blixrud, Assistant Executive Director, External Relations, ARL; and Mark Young, ARL Statistics Liaison.
The webcast explained and answered questions about the ARL Statistics data-collection process for the 2006-07 survey. Topics included:
Things to watch for when collecting and reporting annual data
Deliverables received from ARL
Entering data in the ARL Statistics online forms
Issues to pay attention to during data verification
Recent revisions to the ARL Statistics definitions
ARL Statistics electronic edition
The ARL Statistics team encourages all ARL libraries' survey coordinators to view the webcast and chat history, as there are changes to both the online data-entry form and the method of calculating serials collections for the ARL Statistics.
