'Right of Privacy'
Did you know that due to the right of privacy, a written release for any photograph or image of an identifiable individual is usually needed? Even if the person agrees to be photographed, this does not imply that he or she agrees to its publication. If the photograph for which you're seeking a release has more than one identifiable individual, a release is needed from each person.
The right of privacy is completely different than copyright. One difference is that 'fair use' is not a defense to claims of violation of this right. Another difference is that privacy rights vary from state to state and unlike copyright, is not a subject of federal law.

Did Thomson Scientific Choose Nobel Prize Laureates?
Each year since 1989, Thomson Scientific has used citation data from ISI Web of Knowledge to predict Nobel Prize winners. They are the only organization to use this method to make Nobel predictions. In fact, Thomson Scientific Citation Laureates have been cited so often that they typically rank in the top one-tenth percent of their respective fields.
Find out more about the selection process and see who has been chosen as Thomson Scientific Citation Laureates for 2006. Go to http://scientific.thomson.com/news/newsletter/2006-09/8342855/.

Wetlands in Agricultural Landscapes
"Wetlands in Agricultural Landscapes" (http://www.nal.usda.gov/wqic/ceap/ceap05.shtml) is one in a multi-volume set developed by the Water Quality Information Center at the National Agricultural Library in support of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Conservation Effects Assessment Project (CEAP).
This bibliography highlights research findings in two main areas: (1) the effect of conservation practices and other agricultural activities on wetlands, and (2) the environmental effects of wetlands as conservation practices, including constructing and restoring wetlands. It will also facilitate the identification of knowledge gaps regarding effects of conservation practices on ecosystem services provided by wetlands in agricultural landscapes, and will help identify where research is needed.
