What is(n’t) Digital Humanities? Seminar Series Begins November 5 via Second Life

The University Libraries, its Newfound Press, the Office of Information Technology Innovative Technology Center, and the Department of English will provide local access for UT faculty and graduate students to the 2008-2009 UCLA Mellon Seminar, “What is(n’t) Digital Humanities?” Seminars will begin Wednesday, November 5 from 5-8 p.m., and follow monthly through June 2009. The topic for the November 5 session is “Visualization,” and will be led by Diane Favro and Chris Johanson from UCLA’s Cultural VR Lab.

The seminar sessions will be broadcast live into Second Life and may be viewed in the Practice Presentation Room in the Commons (2nd floor, UT Libraries). Attendees will not need to have computer access to participate.
