September 12: Maggie Longmire and Free Soil Farm
If there is a grande dame of the Knoxville music scene, it must be Maggie Longmire who has graced the stage for over twenty years, getting better as time goes by. She is still named Knoxville’s best local musician in readers’ polls and her lovely CD, Granddaughter: an Americana Opera was named best CD by Metro Pulse in 2003. Free Soil Farm is often Jay Manneschmidt on guitar, accordian and piano; Chris MacMahon on bass and Jay Miller on percussion. WHERE: On the Mezzanine at Lawson McGhee Library For more information, please contact Nelda Hill at 215-8729. |
