Pauline Bayne served as Head of the Music Library from 1973 to 2007. She was appointed Assistant Dean of Libraries before retiring from UT in 2009. Please see the Music Library history page for more information on her career.

Sandy Leach has spent most of her professional career with UT Libraries, serving as Head of Branch Libraries, including the Music Library, from April 2008 to August 2011. She was appointed Associate Dean for Collections in September 2011.

Connie Steigenga, Daytime Supervisor: June 2006 - November 2011, Evening Supervisor: June 2004 - May 2006, Student Assistant: January 2003 - May 2004. Connie, who completed masters degrees in both Music Education and Information Sciences, took a new position in the Systems Department of UT Hodges Library.

Arwen Garrett, Senior Library Assistant (Daytime) 2005-2006. Arwen worked as the temporary daytime supervisor from January 2005 until March 2006.

Margaret Kaus, Associate Professor and Music Librarian, 2000-2004. After working as the music cataloger at the University of North Florida, Margaret became our professional cataloger for music and assisted in collection development. In January 2005, she left the UT Music Library to begin working at Kansas State University Library.

Jonathan Shearon, Library Departmental Supervisor, 2003-2004. Jonathan worked for us as Evening Supervisor from January 2003 until May 2004.

Stephanie Brown, Library Departmental Supervisor, 2001-2003  Stephanie worked for us as Library Supervisor (evening) from December 2001 January 10, 2003.

Chad Jones, Library Departmental Supervisor, 2001. Chad, an ethnomusicology graduate student, worked for the Music Library in a variety of positions: SLA, half-time staff, and then as the evening supervisor from June - October 2001.

Michelle Brannen, Library Departmental Supervisor, 1998-2001 Michelle transferred to Hodges Library Media Center in February 2001 to help plan and implement a new service: The Studio. She now works as Information Technologist there.

LouAnn Blocker, Library Departmental Supervisor, 1998-2000. LouAnn Blocker is an alumnus of the UTK History Department. She left the Music Library in September 2000 to join the Reference and Instructional Services Team at Hodges Library.

Richard Harwood, Music Library Cataloger and Coordinator, 1997-97 Richard Harwood served as Music Cataloger and Coordinator for the branch from July1997- September1999. Prior to this appointment, he was Cataloging Coordinator in Hodges Library for several years.

Keith Whitaker, Library Departmental Supervisor, 1988-98. Keith is an alumnus of UTK's School of Music, a songwriter and guitarist, and founding member of Crimson Moon, an acoustic-electric rock band.

Marsha Michie, Library Departmental Supervisor, 1992- 1998. Marsha left UTK for Ph.D. study in cultural anthropology at UNC, Chapel Hill in August 1998.

Tinsley (Tim) Silcox, Library Departmental Supervisor, 1981-90 standing with Music Librarian, Pauline Bayne.  Tim is an alumnus of both the UTK School of Music and the School of Information Sciences. He is Director of the Hamon Fine Arts Library at Southern Methodist Univ. in Dallas, TX.
