iLife - DVD Authoring: iDVD
Course Description
Description: DVD creation is the topic of this
short course. Its focus is how to prepare your iMovie project for
DVD distribution. It will also cover how to set up DVD menus and
how to personalize your iDVD project.
Course Format: 20 minutes of lecture followed by 40 minutes
for hands-on practice and questions.
Prerequisite: Take our iMovie classes if you do not have
prior experience with editing.

Course Objectives
- Present an overview of the DVD authoring process.
- Demonstrate features of iMovie for preparing digital video for DVD distribution.
- Demonstrate how to create, save and build an iDVD project.
- Present an overview of iDVD templates and themes.
- Identify basic interface controls and menu items in iDVD.
- Present an overview of customizing an iDVD project.
Course Outcomes
- Participants should gain an understanding of the overall process of creating a DVD.
- Participants should become familiar with iDVD menus and palettes.
- Participants should gain an understanding of the relationship between iMovie and iDVD.
- Participants should gain an understanding of the limitations of iDVD and software alternatives to iDVD for DVD distribution.
- Participants should be able to create, name and delete chapter markers in iMovie.
- Participants should be able to create a basic DVD menu using iDVD.
