Effort Certification Reporting (ECR) System

The IRIS Project Team has completed an electronic on-line web-based Effort Certification Report system (ECR) to support the certification of effort to support salary charges to grants and contracts. Effective with this new process:

• The new on-line IRIS process requires effort be certified on a monthly basis.
• The new process will be effective January 2002 for monthly employees paid from or charged to a WBS element.
• Only monthly employees whose salary or effort should be charged to a WBS element will be required to certify their effort. Employees paid on the biweekly payroll complete a biweekly time sheet, which serves as their effort certification.
• Employees who are required to certify their effort will be notified through their normal email account that the previous month’s effort is ready for certification.
