Reserve Services
Place Items on Reserve
Instructors may place library-owned or personal copies of books, articles and other materials on reserve.
| Reserve Policies: *Requests must be submitted online *Allow one week for processing *Limit 50 items per course *Loan periods are 2 hours or 1 day Why place items on Reserve? *Provide access to supplementary materials not owned by the library *Checkout periods for print materials are shorter, so all students may gain access to needed materials. |
Should I use Blackboard instead of electronic course reserves?
We encourage instructors to use Blackboard to provide online access to course materials. OIT's Digital Media Service (DMS) provides a full range of digitization services to faculty and instructors.
Locate and Checkout
Students can ask for reserve items at the Circulation Desk on the 2nd floor of Hodges Library. Print materials may be checked out at the Circulation Desk for use in the building.
Items placed on electronic reserve are accessible through the library catalog.
- Search by Course Name, Instructor, Department, Title, Author, or Course Abbreviation.
Video Reserve
Place Your Own Videos on Reserve!
You can still put your personal copies on reserve for your students to watch at Hodges Library. Bring your VHS or DVD videos to the Circulation Desk and fill out a Video Reserve Form. The videos will be available for your students to check out at the Circulation Desk for in-library use only.
Reserve is not available for library-owned video materials. OIT's Digital Media Service (DMS) provides a full range of digitization services to faculty and instructors if you wish to have library-owned titles streamed to your Blackboard.
* Please suggest titles to your subject librarian that you wish us to purchase so they may be part of the library collection and available for digitization.
