Using Bibliographies

The final search strategy that you may want to try when looking for resources relevant to your research is to utilize bibliographies. Bibliographies (or reference lists or works cited) are typically found at the end of most academic or scholarly publications. These bibliographies hold lots of information, including citations for other articles related to or similar to the topic of the resource they are being cited in.

If you find an article or a book chapter that is relevant to your research but you are having trouble locating other items, take a look at the bibliography for the item you have. Odds are that a few of the citations on the bibliography will either lead you to other authors or articles of interest or may even point you directly to a book or a website that will aid your research.
