Finding Articles

Conducting a Search

This section will use Academic Search Premier as an example. This multidisciplinary database provides full-text for over 3,900 scholarly publications, including over 3,000 peer-reviewed journals.

  • Choose General Topics.

  • Select Academic Search Premier.

  • Enter your topic.

Type your terms into the search box using "default fields" and press "Search."

      Select ASP
  • View Results.

The results list displays article citations with links to abstracts for full text. A link at the bottom of each citation provides information on access to that article.

      Searching
  • Narrow your search.

There are many additional ways to limit your results. For example, from the "Refine Search" tab, you can limit your results to:
         • Full Text
         • References Available
         • Scholarly (Peer Reviewed) Journals

      Narrowing your search

This yields fewer results than a normal subject search.

  • Broaden your search.
