Government Documents include the publications of United States Federal Government agencies, the State of Tennessee, selected foreign governments, and international agencies.
The UT Libraries became a selective Federal depository in 1907 and currently selects about 30% of items offered through the Federal Depository Library Program. Since 1917, the Libraries has served as a State of Tennessee depository. Materials received on deposit cover a variety of subjects and formats, including print, microfiche, computer files, and digital.
Government publications shelved by SuDocs classification are located in the Storage collection. These and selected pre-1976 titles may be accessed using the
online catalog. Current government publications, except for reference titles, are selected in digital format only.

Government data files are housed with the Data Services collection in Map Services, Hodges Library.
Ask at the Research Assistance desk in the Commons on the second floor for assistance in locating materials throughout the University Libraries.
