Giving to the Libraries
Who are the Library Friends?
The UT Library Friends are a non-profit, volunteer organization. All are welcome to join.
The Library Friends appreciate the libraries' role as a unique and important resource to the region and are dedicated to the libraries' growth.
How do Library Friends help?
The purpose of the Library Friends is to:
- Stimulate private support of the libraries.
- Further the appreciation of the printed word.
- Promote freedom of access to information.
- Encourage greater consciousness of the importance of the libraries throughout the state.
- Support the libraries in developing the collection as a resource for study and research.
How can I become a Library Friend?
An annual gift qualifies an individual for membership in the Library Friends. For more information see Ways to Give.
As a member, you will receive the Library Friends newsletter, the Library Development Review and invitations to programs and lectures sponsored by the libraries, including the Dr. and Mrs. A.H. Lancaster Library Friends Lecture Series. Most importantly, Library Friends members have the satisfaction of directly assisting the libraries in enriching scholarship and research at the University of Tennessee.
