DSAC
Dean of Libraries’ Student Advisory CommitteeAbout the Committee
Composed of undergraduate and graduate students from across disciplines, the Student Advisory Committee to the Dean of Libraries’ office (DSAC) provides invaluable contributions to the UT Libraries.
Members meet as a full committee approximately three times per semester, with opportunities to propose and participate in special events or projects outside of meetings.
Over the past several academic years, DSAC members have:
- Provided insights on library spaces, including the new Graduate Student Commons and a student-suggested Silent Room in Hodges Library
- Shared thoughts on open access resources (OERs) and served as members of the SGA Open Education Awards selection committee
- Contributed ideas for communications and outreach on social media, technology and equipment offerings, and special events
Members were instrumental in the Libraries’ decision to add additional Sunday hours to Hodges Library’s offerings. They have also represented the Libraries in special events, including a 50th anniversary exhibit of the “Rocky Top” manuscript and the inaugural SEC Academic Collaboration Award Workshop, held at Texas A&M University.
If you are interested in joining, complete the DSAC Nomination Form to be considered for the committee.
