On October 16th, 2001, the Diversity Committee distributed a survey, developed by Committee members, to all library employees to assess perceptions of the general work climate in the Libraries, as well as reaction regarding the more specific climate for diversity. The survey responses will guide the Committee as it develops the Libraries' diversity initiative and programs. The Committee's climate survey was the subject of a presentation at an April 2002 national conference on diversity in academic libraries, held at the University of Iowa.
On February 13, 2002, 3:30-5:00 p.m. the Diversity Committee held
an open forum to discuss the results of the UT Libraries' Diversity
Climate Survey. Survey responses and comments are kept strictly
anonymous. The results presented were a summary of the many responses
we received.
