Holiday Party, December 2002
The Diversity Committee partnered with the Libraries' Staff Association to host the annual December holiday party for library employees. The Committee provided information on a wide variety of festivals and celebrations that are held throughout the world in the winter months. As always, there was a diverse array of food to enjoy. Library Student Recognition Festival, October 31, 2002
The Diversity Committee organized and hosted the Libraries' first Student Recognition Festival on October 31, 2002. Student workers at the UT Libraries were honored. See the press release and the campus newspaper article for more information about this event.
Student Book Choices

Workshop Series on Disabilities: "Helping Patrons with Disabilities," September 17, 2002 (repeated on October 1, 2002)
UT's Office of Disability Services assisted with the program which included information on how to help patrons with disabilities, and barriers in the library and on campus. Staff Forum on the Libraries' Diversity Climate Assessment, February 13, 2002
The Diversity Committee hosted a forum for library staff, faculty, and student employees to discuss the results of the Libraries' October 2002 diversity climate survey. Summary results of the survey were presented via a "Diversity Climate Survey Report to Participants" For more information on the Committee's survey project, see the Diversity Climate Assessment page.

2001

"Harvest of Hope" Tea, November 19, 2001
The Committee hosted a tea for library staff to thank them for their support since the Committee's inception in February 2001, and to introduce the Committee's webpage. Seasonal refreshments and music were enjoyed by all.

"Food for Thought" Diversity Luncheon, August 1, 2001
"Diversity@UT Libraries=You" was the theme for a luncheon hosted and prepared by the Diversity Committee at the University's International House. The Committee's mission and goals, were introduced to library staff. See some photos.
