Fall Culture Corner, August 2006
The Culture Corner for fall 2006 featured the Life of the Mind title "Hope and Other Dangerous Pursuits" by Laila Lalami. Topics included in the corner focused on Morrocco, immigration, Islam, and other themes from the book.
Libraries' Welcome Back Table, August 21 - 22, 2006
The Committee hosted a Welcome Back Table for the UT students on the two days before classes began for the fall semester. Members of the Committee and others in the Libraries volunteered to staff the table, which offered students information on the Libraries' services and also gave them a chance to enter a drawing for bookstore gift certificates.

International Festival, April 21, 2006
The Committee hosted a table at the 2006 festival where they invited attendees to enjoy free cookies and candy while learning about the Committee's activities and library services related to diversity. Attendees were also invted to write what they think of when they think of the Libraries' in their home language.
bell hooks' Resource Guide, April 2006
Members of the Committee created a resource guide posted on the Diversity News Channel that offered listings of books held at the UT Libraries by and about bell hooks, as well as Internet resources useful for learning more about the author.
African Americans in Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, February 2006
Includes print and web resources related to African Americans in the field of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine. Guide created by Shantel Agnew, Research Assistant Professor/Diversity Resident Librarian.
Spring Culture Corner, January 2006
GLBTQ Culture was chosen as the theme for the spring 2006 Culture Corner, featuring resources that emphasized the diversity of the GLBTQ culture.

American Indian Heritage Month Resource Guide, November 2005
A resource guide created by LaVerne Gray and Shantel Agnew in celebration of American Indian Heritage Month. The guide includes hints on searching the UT Libraries catalog by subject, background information, biographies, atlases, history & culture, online resources, videos, fiction and non-fiction resources, as well as journals and periodicals.
UT Sneak Peak Browse Session Table, October 31, 2005
Members of the Committee staffed a table at the Sneak Peak event designed to introduce African-American students and their parents to the University. The table included handouts and flyers for students related to the Libraries, as well as the opportunity for students to talk to library employees.
Showing of Iron Jawed Angels, August 31, 2005
In celebration of Women's Equality Day on August 25, the Committee hosted a showing of Iron Jawed Angels in recognition of the 85th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment.
Lambda Student Union Welcome Back Event, August 26, 2005
Donna Braquet represented the Committee at the Lambda Student Union Welcome Back event by hosting a table along with SIS faculty member Bharat Mehra.

The Committee continued to use the fall Culture Corner to support the Life of the Mind reading program for freshman by offering titles and resources related to the chosen book, “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time” by Mark Haddon.
Summer Culture Corner, June 2005
The Committee implemented its first summer Culture Corner, recognizing the diversity that is the Appalachian region. The selected resources emphasized topics and issues illustrating the people, history, culture, and environment of the Appalachian region.
International Festival, April 15, 2005
The Committee participated in the University’s International
Festival and shared the Libraries’ diversity initiatives

King Resource Guide and Documentaries, January 2005
In celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, a resource
guide was created and selected King documentaries were made
available for public viewing in the library.
