Summer 2007: Disability Awareness

The Summer 2007 Culture Corner features selected resources relating to disability awareness. The selected resources offer an introduction to the history, culture, and challenges of the disabled in a number of settings. Topics include employment, sports, Disability Rights Movement and laws, as well as education, literature and assistive technology. Disabilities cover many areas, and we have attempted to offer an insight into the many perspectives of disability. Fall 2007 Life of the Mind: In the Wake of the Plague:
The Black Death and the World It Made

The Fall 2007 Culture Corner follows the Libraries’ tradition of highlighting materials related to the University’s Life of the Mind reading selection. This year we also join in the fall celebration of the Medieval semester. The selected resources provide further insight into the life and customs of Europe during the Middle Ages and also focus on the impact of widespread epidemics or pandemics both historical and contemporary.
