Approval Plans

The University Libraries receives certain designated categories of materials through approval plans with selected commercial vendors. An approval plan is a program by which a commercial vendor identifies books that meet certain defined criteria and delivers them to the library. Depending on the details of the plan, the vendor may send books, notification slips, or both.

The University Libraries principle approval plan vendor is YBP Library Services, Inc., a subsidiary of Baker & Taylor. The approval plan agreement provides books and notification slips for North America. Books and other publications from the United Kingdom are provided via Lindsay & Crofts, a subsidiary of YBP Library Services.
