The John C. Hodges Storage Facility

The Storage Facility was created to allow for growth in the main collection. It primarily contains journals twenty years old and older. To see if the volume of a journal that you need is in Storage, check the Online Catalog.

  1. Faculty, staff, and graduate students may submit requests for delivery to their department through ILLiad, or for library hold-for-pick-up by clicking "Request" next to the volume wanted in the Catalog.
  2. Undergraduates can request items for hold-for-pick-up by clicking "Request" next to the volume wanted in the Catalog.
  3. Users unable to log into their accounts and non-UT requestors can submit requests using the Storage Request Form.

If you have any questions, please call the Reference Department at 974-4171 or the Circulation Department at 974-4351. If you are submitting a request for the first time or are unfamiliar with our policies, please read them thoroughly.

Policies

Electronic Submission

    Patrons may request storage items by submitting an electronic form or through the Online Catalog.

By 9:30 A.M.--Same Day Service

    Items requested before 9:30 am Monday through Friday will be available by 3:00 pm the same day. Requests placed on Friday after 9:30 am or on the weekend will be available Monday afternoon.

Items Delivered To All Branches For Faculty And Graduate Students

    Patrons may have their items delivered to the circulation desk at the Ag-Vet Library or the Music Library, if the appropriate location is selected on the form. Faculty, Staff, and Graduate students may choose to use Library Express for office delivery.

Items Held For Seven Days

    Storage items delivered to the main or branch libraries will be held for seven days. Items not picked up after this time will be returned to the Storage Facility. Patrons will not be called unless there is a problem with their request.

Special Arrangements Can Be Made

    Due to fire codes browsing is not allowed in the Storage Facility. Patrons may make special arrangements to have materials paged to the Map Library for use in the Map Library Reading Room. Arrangements must be made in advance through the Hodges Library Circulation Department. (974-4351).
