External Zip Drives
for Loaner Laptops
Two IOMEGA external Zip
Drives are now available for checkout in Hodges Library, under the
same policies as the Loaner Laptops. These are 200MB USB drives,
which can use either 100MB or 200MB Zip disks. Please ask at the
Circulation Desk in Hodges Library.
No Responsibility
Form Required
Students are no longer
required to fill out and sign a responsibility form before checking
out a loaner laptop. However, a valid UTK ID is still required,
and students are expected to be familiar with the loaner laptop
policies. Copies of the loaner laptop policies are available at
the circulation desk, attached to the loaner laptop and on-line.
Loaner Laptops Available
at AgVetMed and Music Libraries
Seven loaner laptops
are currently available for checkout at the AgVetMed Library and
three are available at the Music Library. Please check with the
respective libraries for availability and any local policies.
Ten New Laptops Now
Available
Ten new Dell Latitude
laptops are now available at the second floor circulation desk for
checkout, bringing the total number of Loaner Laptops at Hodges
Library to thirty. The new laptops are running Windows XP and are
currently equipped with a floppy drive and wireless networking capability.

No Network Log-in
Required
Changes in the campus
wireless network configuration May 2002, mean that Loaner Laptop
users no longer have to log-in to the wireless network with a NetId
and Password in order to access the internet. The laptops will connect
to the wireless network automatically, just open a browser window
