• UT faculty and staff must have a UT ID
card and be currently employed by the University. UT faculty are eligible
for proxy cards (netid login required).
• UT students must have a UT ID card
and be enrolled for the current semester

Education students may request assistance with borrowing materials

• Type of card available: Affiliate borrower card
• How to obtain: The person to be issued the card must come to the 2nd floor circulation desk at Hodges Library with the faculty or staff sponsor and fill out an application. Proof of identity is required. The faculty or staff member must present a valid UT ID card and the sponsored family member must provide some type of photographic ID such as a driver's license.
• Affiliate cards are valid for 1 year and may be renewed by the sponsor.

| UT Hospital
Staff |

• Employees of UT Hospital have the same
borrowing privileges as staff and faculty on the UT campus. (See loan
details for more information.)
• Patron needs to have their UT Hospital ID to check out library items.

• Please note that library priviledges are only available

• How to obtain: Current students, faculty, and staff should go their
college libraries to obtain a responsibility form which is then brought to the
Hodges Library Circulation Department along with a photo ID

UT System (UT Martin, UT Chattanooga, UT Memphis) and State
Board of Regents Colleges
• Type of card: TBR or TALC card (also known as
a Universal Borrower's Card)
• How to obtain: Current students, faculty, and
staff should go their college libraries to obtain the card.
Bring the TBR/TALC card and a photo ID to the second floor
circulation desk at Hodges Library to be registered in our
system.

• Employees of TVA and ORNL in Oak Ridge may obtain a Courtesy
Card through their respective libraries

• Type of card: Subscriber card
• Cost: $100 per year payable by cash or check. Expires one calendar
year from the date of purchase
• Issued only to individuals (no company cards) and is not transferable
to another individual

desk on the 2nd floor to make application

for Non-UT Borrowers (Courtesy/TBR/TALC/Subscriber Card Holders) |

The following privileges are available to all
holders of affiliate, courtesy, TBR/TALC, or subscriber cards:
• Check out of books from the Hodges, Music, Map, and Ag-Vet Med
Libraries
• A total of ten books may be charged against the card at any one
time
The following services/privileges are not granted by
these cards:
• Check out of journals/periodicals
• Recall of books; although holds are available
• Use of computer labs, Library Express, or Interlibrary
Loan
• Remote (off-campus) access to databases and electronic
resources
All card holders are responsible for fines or
charges accrued. Borrowing privileges will be suspended for
outstanding fines of $5.00 or more. |
