Frequently Used Tools:

Access and Delivery Services, Hodges Library

Access and Delivery Services (ADS) links patrons with the specific library materials they select and/or request. ADS services include patron borrowing privileges, staffed and self-service checkout; laptop lending; book searches and recalls; print and electronic course reserves; obtaining materials from other libraries; and delivery of materials from all sources to Distance Education students, UT Faculty and Graduate Students, and between campus locations. ADS services are offered at multiple service points in the Hodges Library, and via telephone and email.

Circulation Services

Hodges Circulation Department, also known as Main Circulation, we are located on the second floor of Hodges Library, just inside the Melrose Entrance to the building. This is where most books are checked out and returned, overdue fines are collected, carrels and studies are assigned, and borrower's cards are issued. The Library's lost and found is located here as well.

Library Express

Library Express delivers books and bound periodicals to UTK campus users at designated campus locations. Library Express also retrieves books from departmental offices and returns them to the library. To use Library Express, you must be a valid UTK graduate student, faculty or staff member.

Interlibrary Services

Interlibrary Services, ILS, serves UT faculty, staff and students by locating and delivering materials not available at the University Libraries.

Digital Production

Digital Production serves as a vital support service to the library. Digital Production is the face of the Hodges Reserve Services. Faculty members may drop off and pick-up items that have placed on reserve for their class. Digital Production also maintains the copiers in Hodges as well as supports and assists Interlibrary Loan with their requests. Digital Production Services is located on the First Floor of Hodges Library in Room 170 (the former Duplication area).

Stacks

The Stacks Unit is responsible for the maintenance of the stacks (books and the equipment used to house them, shelves, etc.). The Hodges Stacks are located on floors three through six.

Storage

The Storage Collection primarily contains about 110,000 volumes of less-frequently used periodical titles. Most volumes predate 1975. Materials may be requested from Storage through ILLiad or via an electronic order form which is available on the Storage page.
