Historical 15 Minute & 30 Minute USGS Maps

The UT Map Library holds a collection of 15 minute
(1:62,500) and 30 minute (1:125,000) historical (1882-1940) USGS
maps. These maps can provide an excellent view of the changes that
have occurred in the cultural landscape. The coverage of these maps
varies from state to state. To assist patrons in locating historical
30 minute and 15 minute topographic maps of Tennessee, we have created
web pages with index maps that show the coverage that we have of
these maps (see below). To locate 30 minute and 15 minute USGS maps
for other states please use Riley Moffat's book Map
index to topographic quadrangles of the United States, 1882-1940
(held at Map Library Reference, Call Number: 234124 2)
