Description: The project for American and French Research on the Treasury of the French Language (ARTFL) has created a textual database which includes over 2,000 French texts from the 12th to the 20th centuries. Genres include novels, verse, theater, journalism, essays, correspondence, and treatises. Subjects include literary criticism, biology, history, economics, and philosophy. The ARTFL Project also provides access to collections of texts and reference works such as the ARTFL Encyclopedie, French Women's Writers, Provencal poetry, and a variety of French and English dictionaries.
