Your Vote Counts—Join the National Campaign
for the 2006 Mid-Term Elections!


The University of Tennessee, Knoxville joined the National Campaign for Political and Civic Engagement in 2003. This campaign was begun by the Institute of Politics at Harvard University in 2003 in response to the growing number of college students who have become disengaged from the political process. Presently 20 schools across the country are involved and offering a number of programs and special events to help students develop the knowledge, understanding, and ability to participate fully in their political system. In recognition of this important part civic life, events are being planned for the fall 2006. The Howard H. Baker Jr. Center for Public Policy is spearheading this campaign with the support of the Innovative Technologies Center, UT Libraries, UT Political Science Department, and the Student Government Association.
