Your Vote Counts—Join the National Campaign for the
2006 Mid-Term Elections!
The University of Tennessee, Knoxville joined the National Campaign for
Political and Civic Engagement in 2003. This campaign was begun by the
Institute of Politics
at Harvard University in 2003 in response to the
growing number of college students who have become disengaged from the
political process. Presently 20 schools
across the country are involved and offering a number of programs and
special events to help students develop the knowledge, understanding,
and ability to participate fully in their political system.
In recognition of this important part civic life, events
are being planned for the fall 2006.
The Howard H. Baker Jr. Center for Public Policy is spearheading this
campaign with the support of the Innovative Technologies Center,
UT
Libraries, UT Political Science Department, and the Student
Government Association.
