The University Archives is the repository for the official unpublished records of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. These historically important materials date from the early nineteenth century and include the papers of UT Presidents, minutes of the Boards of Trustees, records of student organizations, and files from most of the University's academic departments and administrative offices.

This site serves as the gateway to information about the holdings. Finding aids to most of the materials are available in the Special Collections Library and efforts are being made to mount a number of these finding aids online by using Encoded Archival Description (EAD) standards. Search engines to locate specific events, individuals, or subjects within the holdings are also in development. In the meantime, researchers may browse the following online finding aids.
