Abstract: This collection includes University of Tennessee Memorabilia, including commencement invitations, a UT jacket patch, an orange and white hat, a trophy reading Award of the Year, 1945, and a laminated newspaper article announcing Miss Elizabeth (Bet) Vaughan Co-Ed of the Year. There are also three cardboard-backed signs listing names of UT students and alumni who died in the Second World War, a memorial service program, a McClung Museum Bicentennial brochure, a 1948 University brochure, a 1941 Carnicus program, a Beaver Club advertisement and certificate, a photocopy from the Volunteers Yearbook, four copies of the Orange and White from 1942, a copy of the Bolivar Bulletin from April 24, 1942, and a newspaper article from the Knoxville News Sentinel on the Coed of the Year election.

Biographical Note: Nancy Elizabeth "Bet" Vaughan graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1946. While at UT, she was the Volunteer Business Manager from 1945-46, Torchbearer, Orange and White Editor, served on the YWCA Junior Cabinet, WSGA, SFOB, Carnicus Staff, was secretary for Alpha Lambda Delta and treasurer Pi Lamba Theta. In addition to Co-ed of the Year in 1946, she was awarded the Kappa Delta Pledge Scholarship Cup, Outstanding Junior Award in 1945, Outstanding Sophomore Girl in 1944, was on the Honor Roll, and was mentioned in Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities.

Scope and Content Note: This collection includes University of Tennessee Memorabilia, including commencement invitations, a UT jacket patch, an orange and white "rooter" hat, and a trophy reading Award of the Year, 1946. The UT Jacket Patch includes a leather figure of a beaver. The rooter hat is plain orange with white interior, with no exterior markings or designs.
      Also included is a laminated newspaper article from the Memphis Commercial Appeal announcing Miss Elizabeth (Bet) Vaughan Co-Ed of the Year, an October 2, 1942 Orange and White newspaper with an article on Gid Willis Fryer leaving the newspaper for the army, plus several other Orange and Whites from 1942, a copy of the Bolivar Bulletin from April 24, 1942, and a newspaper article from the Knoxville News Sentinel on the Coed of the Year election. There are also three cardboard-backed memorials listing names of UT students and alumni who died in the Second World War, a WWII memorial service program, a McClung Museum Bicentennial brochure, a 1948 University brochure, a 1941 Carnicus program, a Beaver Club advertisement and certificate stating that Gid Willis Fryer was an official member, and an undated photocopy of Volettes from the Volunteer Yearbook.
