Biographical Note:
University of Tennessee's Distinguished Alumni List was designed to honor notable alumni for unique
or advanced accomplishments in their individual fields, such as author Cormac McCarthy and Supreme Court Justice Edward Terry Stanford.
Scope and Content Note: This collection consists of materials relating to the selection and addition of names to the University of Tennessee's Distinguished Alumni List. It includes submission forms, correspondence, publications, and biographical notes. Also included is biographical material on names mentioned in the Volunteer Leaders Directory, a directory of distinguished University of Tennessee alumni. Much of the correspondence is from Milton Klein, University Historian.
