Abstract: This collection consists of ink drawings of the Camilla and other plants done by former University of Tennessee professor and UT Landscape Architect Roger B. Thompson. It also includes three issues of Home Gardening in which Thompson published articles and drawings, and correspondence with various magazine publishers.

Biographical Note: Roger B. Thompson got his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Louisiana State University, and taught at the Oklahoma A&M before serving as an assistant professor in the Horticulture department at the University of Tennessee from 1953 to 1965. He served as the Campus Landscape Architect for the University of Tennessee from 1963 until his retirement in 1972.

Scope and Content Note: The Roger B. Thompson drawings collection includes 129 ink sketches on the back of index cards, most with the plant title, and some full-page ink drawings, of the different species of Camellis plants. There are also notes concerning Thompson's drawings, correspondence from various magazine publishers concerning submitted drawings and articles from 1946 to 1950, a collection of articles and printed images from magazines written by Roger B. Thompson, and three issues of Home Gardening with printed articles and images by Thompson, two copies of the January 1947 issue and one October 1947.
