Biographical Note:  This collection of photographs documents the development of the university over the course of two centuries.  Apart from materials from the Blount College era, 1794-1807, this collection covers most of the important aspects of the university.

Scope and Content Note:  This collection contains photographs relating to the University of Tennessee, including the Knoxville, Nashville, and Memphis campuses.  Covers the early nineteenth to the late twentieth centuries.  The collection is divided into the nine series listed below.  Researchers should also consult the University Historian's Photograph and Slide Collection.
