Biographical Note: Malcolm Rice was the University of Tennessee Architect. He attended Yale School of Architecture in 1916-17 and 1919-1920, served during World War I in the Navy. He studied in Egypt, Italy, China, India, and France through 1919-1921. From 1953 to 1970 he worked as the consulting architect for the University of Tennessee, working on the Arnold Space Center in Tullahoma, and UT campuses of Martin and Chattanooga, as well as designing the McClung Museum in Knoxville. He died in 1997.

Scope and Content Note: This collection consists of self-publications by Malcolm Rice, University of Tennessee Architect from 1953 to 1970. They include photographic exhibits and essays on international locations such as the Galapagos Islands, China, and the Andes, and several short story collections.
