Counterpart Projects: Psychology
Linda Sammataro (UTK) and Becky Ray (VU) have compared faculty interests and course offerings in the two institutions' programs. There appears to be very little overlap between specialized materials in psychology collections at UTK and VU's Central Library; both collections include core materials and general materials of interest to undergraduates. There may be more overlap between UTK and the psychology collection at VU's Education Library since UTK's interests are primarily counseling-centered. UTK has a special fund for purchasing Jung-related materials and has a strong collection in this field. Their other strengths are Freud, hypnosis, and artificial intelligence. VU does not collect heavily in these areas and may be able to rely on UTK's collection.
