Finding Books
To begin searching for a book, choose a library catalog. Library catalogs list not only books, but also periodical subscriptions, microfilm, videos, dissertations, scores, maps and other materials.

 

UT Library Catalog
Contains materials in the UT Libraries collection, which includes the Hodges (Main) library and branch libraries: Agriculture-Veterinary Medicine, Maps, Music, and Special Collections. Affiliated collections of Social Work, Nashville and the Preston Medical Library at UT Hospital are also included. Holdings of the UT Law Library are not included.

  • Use "Basic Search" to search by keyword or to browse a list of headings.
  • Use "Advanced Search" for more complex searches combining keywords or headings.
  • From the list of search results, click “Full Record” to see details about the item. Click "All Items" to see if an item is checked out. Note also the location and call number of the item.
  • Some materials are shelved in Storage. Use the Storage Form to request.
   
E-books
Thousands of electronic books are available to UT Knoxville students, faculty, and staff.
   
Kudzu
A catalog representing the combined holdings of 17 southeastern research libraries. UT Knoxville students, faculty, and staff may request materials not owned by UT through Kudzu’s online Interlibrary Loan feature.
